Jennifer Ross, a Masters' Degree candidate in History at New Mexico State University from 1994-1996, conducted a series of oral interviews of Women's Club members throughout southern New Mexico. Ten respondents included club members in Las Cruces, Mesilla Park, Alamogordo, Glenwood, Carrizozo, and Truth or Consequences. These interviews took place in March-April 1996. The New Mexico Federation of Women Clubs [NMFWC] is part of the national organization General Federation of Women's Clubs [GFWC], which supervises state chapters. The regional and local chapters, in turn, reported to the NMFWC. The chapters function under the auspices of the NMFWC, and are largely subject to their constitutions, by-laws and governing principles. In Santa Fe, the club was originally called Woman's Board of Trade and Library Association.

The New Mexico Garden Clubs, Inc. began in 1950 and is part of the National Federation of Garden Clubs. There are currently 25 clubs within the state of New Mexico, organized within five districts. Club officers appraised the records in February 2009, discarded materials that did not fit in with the club’s archives policy, and organized what they kept into series they designed in consultation with the archivist.

Collection consists of nine leather-bound small volumes detailing surveying results in Santa Fe county, Bernalillo county, and Rio Arriba county. Small volumes show nearly exclusively numeric data; some mapping; no text. One of the roads surveyed is New Mexico State Highway 14, also known as Turquoise Trail road (then State Road 10) which is a highway connecting Santa Fe to Albuquerque .

The collection contains thirty Spanish-language wedding announcements dating from the early twentieth century, all entitled either "Himeneo" or "Nupcias". The announcements contain the names of the bride and groom, their parents and information about the wedding ceremonies.
