Biographical / Historical

New Mexico First is a non-profit organization co-founded in 1986 by U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman (retired) and the late U.S. Senator Pete Domenici. New Mexico First builds consensus on critical issues facing New Mexico and its communities and leads positive policy change through town halls, forums, and nonpartisan work on education, the economy, health, natural resources and good government. The mission of New Mexico First is to be a nonpartisan catalyst for positive change by conducting independent research, engaging New Mexicans in policy, and enabling action.
