MASTERCARD APPLICATION, FEB. 2, 1982

Scope and Contents To work in movies I had to obtain a credit card, for hotels, rental cars, food. I applied several times for a Mastercard and was rejected even though I was earning maybe 80Gs a year. I had no debts and no credit rating. Finally, I wrote a 6-page outraged letter to the bank manager who rejected my application. This folder contains: 1.) A January 23, 1982 rejection of my application. 2.) My February 2 insanely outraged 6-page response. They finally gave me the damn card!

Scope and Contents I spent a week in N.Y. with Costa-Gavras working on a script for the film "Warday." We were lodged by the studio at the Helmsley Palace. This folder contains 5 letters, Xeroxes, and calculations regarding my expenses from me to the office of producer, Eddie Lewis, also plane tickets and receipts, a pamphlet touting the lavish Helmsley Palace, and their marvelous itemized bill for my stay when the studio was paying $180 a night for my room.
