Soon as I graduated Hamilton College I went to Spain to live a year with my grandmother, Maggie Robert Le-Braz, "Mamita," first (during the summer of 1962) in Alicante and then at her Barcelona apartment. I took Spanish classes in Alicante. This folder has: an Alicante city map; a catalogue for the summer classes from August 6 to September 1; and an Alicante bullfight ticket dated August 5, 1962 with my notes scribbled on it.

His school was in an Italian film The Moment of Truth--Il momento de verita--starring Linda Christian. This folder has a cartel of Pedrucho and 6 bulls he killed on May 25, 1930; also a July 24, 1960 letter in Spanish from Pedrucho to a Barcelona impresario asking him to admit Bill and me to a sorteo where bulls are chosen for matadors to fight. I returned to NY from Spain in June 1963, and played my guitar in Greenwich Village folk cafes. One night (August 2, 1963) Bruce Clayman hired me to play in his World Cafe and he was busted for entertainment without a license. I testified for him in court.
