JUST NO STORIES, HAMILTON, 1960-1962

 File — Box: 135, Folder: 28

Scope and Contents

This folder holds: 1.) A collection of 24 published Just No Stories, the humor column I wrote between September 1960 and June 1962 for the Hamilton College Spectator. (See BOX 117, UNFOLDERED for related material.) 2.) Clipped-out letters-to-the-editor of the Spectator during a flap (over one of my "infantile" columns) launched by an alumnus, Dr. Theodore Ingalls. (The Spectator's editor, Bill Nelson, gave a spirited defense of my moronic work, bless him.) 3.) Dr. Ingalls March 13, 1962 typed letter to me is followed by my 6-page hand-written snotty reply...which I hope I never sent.) 4.) 2 other pieces I wrote for the Spectator in the spring of 1962: A roast of a fine Hamilton athlete, Tim Gow, in a Hot Corner column on the sports page; and a wise-guy Student Analysis column about guitars. On the back of my Student Analysis column, is a Hot Corner column by my best friend, Alan Howard, spoofing me in a way that I had spoofed Tim Gow in my Hot Corner column mentioned here. Except Alan Howard was much kinder to me than I was to Tim Gow.
