Scope and Contents

In this folder are: 1.) 3 typed pages about returning from Spain in June 1963, going to Hamilton graduation, talking to Max Wylie about my novel, The Sterile Cuckoo. (See related MAX WYLIE/STERILE CUCKOO item in BOX 103, FOLDER 11.) 2.) 2-page typed description of posh party on October 13, 1963 on Long Island and shooting my first pheasant the next day. 3.) 1 typed page Day of the Dead and comments about day of JFK assassination, probably November 1963. 4.) 1 page description of waitress and her odd speech patterns at corner deli across from my West Broadway apartment, and my plans to use her in a novel I'm working on. Folder has 7 total pages labeled at bottom of page.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
