Notes taken from transcription. Lee and Ramona. Conversation about the weather in Laguna Pueblo in the past, snow fall in 1910, 1988, less each year, lack of water, during Coronado’s visit, 1540, Rio Grande, river frozen over, horses walking on the ice. Lee talks about camera from Kurt’s Camera Corral, Camera Darkroom Shop. More of Lee’s comments on the UC-Davis photo exhibit, framing his photos. Comments on politics, Hillary Clinton, Bill Richardson, McCain, Palin, Alaska fishing and hunting rights. Lee talking about his piece of Trinitite, from the Trinity blast side and having the Grants Mining Museum test it, radioactive. Comments on Custer, Black Hill, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Native lawsuits for Black Hills, land not money, comments on the treaties, Government treatment of Sitting Bull, Lee photographing Turtle Mountain Indian college, tribe signed away their land for five cents an acre. Lee commenting on Navajo land and uranium. Lee telling more about Sherman and Carlisle Indian Boarding Schools, which his relatives attended. He said there is an unknown Marmon buried a Carlisle. Some of Lee’s family members have historic papers and photographs at home. Lee was going to ask them to donate them to UNM CSWR like his photos. Comments on Art Bibo collection
