Notes taken from transcription. Lee, Richard and Ramona, continuation of Richard Marmon, in Los Lunas. Lee’s brother, talking about being in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1943. Lee talks about being at Camp Roberts, California, being a good typist from high school and getting work in the Army office, in 1944 left for Alaska. Richard left Las Vegas, went to Ardmore, Oklahoma, for crew training on B17, as a gunner, and sent overseas, landed in Scotland on June 6, 1944, and on to England, sent on missions over France, his experiences, had switched to togglier, toggling, releasing the bombs, then returned as a gunner, wounded, rehabilitated, and was sent home 1945, war still on yet, spent month at home, reassigned to Kingman AFB, Arizona, salvage work on aircraft, injured, too hot in Arizona, so signed up for forest fire duty Oregon, then to Montana, was still in the Army, war not over. Richard comments on how as children, he and Lee went camping, hiking, with their dogs, looking for gold, fools gold, so forest fires was not hard for Richard, they found uranium yellow cake in 1937 but did not know what it was then.
