All interviews were conducted by Craig Newbill during the Summer of 1992, except for Bernice and Pete Newbill who were initially interviewed in November of 1988, and subsequently in February and August of 1990, respectively. Scope and Content Collection consists of handwritten originals, German typescripts, and typed English translations of letters from Carl Blumner to his mother Johanna Blumner and his sister Hannchen in Prussia concerning his and his brother August's activities in Santa Fe. The letters were written between 1936-1909, and include a few attached letters by his brother August as well as a few letters by his son. Abstract This collection contains the records of the Valmora Industrial Sanatorium and papers of Dr. William T. Brown and Dr. Carl H. Gellenthien, its founder and medical director. The sanatorium represented healthcare in Mora County, New Mexico for over seventy years, first as a tuberculosis sanatorium with a hospital and 32 cottages and then as a community clinic.

As an established artist, Werntz had a highly sophisticated approach to photography. No accession records for this collection. The work of William H. Simpson somehow seems to be tied to this collection but there is no paper trail to verify that.

Carl Schuchard Lithographs

Abstract German mining engineer and expedition artist who accompanied A. B. Gray and his party on their 1854 reconnaissance survey for a transcontinental railroad route along the 32nd parallel for the Texas Western Railroad Company. Twelve of the lithographs were done by Bien and Sterner Lithographers in New York and thirty-four were done by Middleton, Wallace and Company of Cincinnati.
