GOODBYE, MONIQUE (99), August 20, 2018

 File — Box: 195, Folder: 5

Scope and Contents

This is the shortest BOOK TWO on record. Labelled Jmonique.20h. An amazing reduction in words, focused mostly on Dad and Mamita after Monique's death. And much of it is my visits to Dad in Smithville while he's dying. I listen to Dad's recording of Monique's voice in 1993; get Danny Davison's VHS tape of Monique in 2000; and Danny's letter about Monique at Peacock Point in 1933. Also tales of Monique that Pop told me on the phone before he died. Obviously, an insane and desperate attempt to make a sow's ear out of a silk purse. Only 100 pages!
