Scope and Contents

This album contains 20 pages of B&W Xerox pages in a packet that I gave out to all family members attending my dad's memorial at the William Floyd House at Mastic. There's an article about Pop when he was teaching; an excerpt about him from my book, Last Beautiful Days of Autumn; a 4-page letter from Dad to me in 1983 explaining everything about the transduction of affect; a funny card he sent me; 12 "Nichols' Niche" articles he wrote in the Smithville (Texas) Times between 1987-1998; an article, "A Man for All Seasons" I wrote about him for Audubon Magazine, Nov-Dec 1997; a couple of newspaper eulogies for Pop, April 1998; Eulogies from his friends, Duck Pond and Clay McKee; my eulogy for him in Smithville, Texas, on April 15, 1998; and my eulogy for Dad in Mastic on May 16, 1998.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
