INTRO NOTES FOR VOICE OF THE BUTTERFLY, 1997-2001

 File — Box: 132, Folder: 15

Scope and Contents

For years I did public readings from my Voice of the Butterfly manuscript-in-progress. I tried to explain the novel beforehand. This folder has several typed variations on those introductions, dated July 11, 1997 (2 pages), February 8, 1998 (3 pages), and 2001 (5 pages). A final 17-page riff on the history of writing Butterfly is taken from my non-fiction rant from 2001-2002 entitled My Midlist Writer All-American Rolling Thunder Book Tour. (See MIDLIST WRITER MANUSCRIPTS in ARCHIVAL BOXES 85-86.)
