Scope and Contents

In this notebook are: 1.) 19 pages of notes for "The Letter" a movie idea proposed by Jillian Kogan, whom I met working on the Katu screenplay (see above). My notes are dated 11/01/1997. The story begins when somebody finds a letter in the pocket of a coat they mistakenly take as their own when they leave a party. (See JILLIAN KOGAN, BOX 108, FOLDER 21.) 2.) 48 pages of my MANUSCRIPT ARCHIVES inventory of drafts of books located in my storage locker. 3.) List of phone calls April 9-11, 1998 when my father was dying. 4.) 3 pages of riffing for my novel The Empanada Brotherhood. 5.) Phone messages for April 10, 1998, including one from my dad's wife Jackie describing my dad dying. (He died April 13.)

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
