Scope and Content From the Collection: The collection consists of 48 lithographs of Carl Schuchard's drawings made during the A.B. Gray Survey of 1854. Twelve of the lithographs were completed by Bien and Sterner Lithographers in New York and 34 by Middleton, Wallace and Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The lithographs depict scenes along the route of the survey, which sought a possible route for a southern trans-continental railroad.
