GOODBYE, MONIQUE (85), July 31, 2017
BOOK ONE, a clean, original ms. Labelled Jmonique.19f-a. Has a few Post-It suggestions. *Good draft, very close. Includes Monique at Peacock Point, out West with Oqwa Pi, Soda Springs Ranch, etc. Still struggling over Epilogue wrap-up. 203 pages.
GOODBYE, MONIQUE (86), July 31, 2017
Corrected in August. BOOK ONE, same as draft 85 just above, except with many Post-It suggestions, a few new inserts, some edits and hand corrections. It's labelled Jmonique.19f-b. It had 203 pages, same as draft 85, but this rewrite adds more pages, randomly paginated or not. It makes a bunch of changes to the draft just above. About 230 pages?

GOODBYE, MONIQUE (90), October 5, 2017
BOOK ONE and BOOK TWO, long version, labelled Jmonique.19r. Transcoded badly by Electric Sheep, so the type is very light, and manuscript is full of Post-It suggestions, mostly about Part headings, Chapters, and other mundane stupid stuff. Nobody should waste time reading this version (which pretty much repeats the draft 89 just above), because you won't learn anything new. Just another study in my nitpicking dysfunction. 480 pages.
GOODBYE, MONIQUE (91), October 15, 2017
GOODBYE, MONIQUE (92), October 24, 2017
60 pages of Dad and Monique childhoods, then 190 pages of BOOK ONE. AFTERMATH of 32 pages. Labelled Jmonique.20b. Down to 67,463 words. Some corrections and many Post-It edits done on October 25, 2017. Pretty clean. 284 pages.
GOODBYE, MONIQUE (93), November 2, 2017
I've expanded some from draft 92 just above. This one is labelled Jmonique.20c. Same Pop and Monique childhoods. Then a lengthy BOOK ONE. Shorter AFTERMATH. Epilogue and Acknowledgements. 111 titled short chapters. 71,788 words. 302 pages.
GOODBYE, MONIQUE (94), November 30, 2017
I expanded the damn book again, labelled Jmonique.20d. Same childhood riffs, then a BOOK ONE of 190 pages. Then extended AFTERMATH of 90 pages. 129 titled short shapters. It's all the same story, adding more, or subtracting more. Again, it makes me feel crazy. This draft has 81, 338 words. And, for whatever reason, I felt that this was IT. I should've had my head examined. 342 pages.
