 File — Box: 194, Folder: 5-6

Scope and Contents

BOOK ONE and BOOK TWO, transcoded by Electric Sheep and printed by Copy Queen and labelled Jmonique.19k. Clean draft. *A good draft. Begins with Dad and Monique's childhood backgrounds, their teenage years, includes Monique's life at Peacock Point, meeting Oqwa Pi, going out west to Santa Fe, then Soda Springs Ranch, then their courtship, and marriage, etc. until Monique dies. Then Dad's fight for custody of me with Mamita. His trip to French Guina after Monique's death. BOOK TWO begins on page 239, and continues to page 354. Covers stepmom Brownie's abuse of me, whitewash of Monique, their bitter divorce, my visits to Mamita in Barcelona, death of Mamita and Grammie, Pop's move to Smithville, and my visits to him while he's dying. After his Mastic funeral there's an odd 3-page riff in italics about Pop's effect on my life. Then the usual Epilogue and Acknowledgements. BOOK TWO here has many Post-It suggestions. 354 pages.
