This notebook contains: 1.) 5 page critique of Empanada Brotherhood by a friend. 2.) Introduction of novelist Susan Straight at Flagstaff book conference. 3.) Several pages of February phone messages. 4.) Page of notes for my panel in Flagstaff. 5.) Notes for a talk in Colorado Springs. 6.) Phone messages while in Denver giving talk for Land Institute. 7.) 6 pages of notes and diary on Border Book Festival, March 20-22. 8.) 26 page journal of visiting my father in Smithville, TX, he's dying, from March 25-28, 1998. 9.) 44 pages of Smithville journal April 14-16, 1998, during days incorporating the funeral for my dad who died on April 13.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
