Scope and Contents

From the Series: The third series of the Lloyd H. New Papers consists of 8 folders and is divided into 2 sub-series: Kiva Craft Center and Scottsdale Center for the Arts.

The first sub-series, Kiva Art Center, contains 4 folders of correspondence, photographs, press clippings and promotional materials about Mr. New’s early business career from 1946-1957. Most interesting in this sub-series is a letter from 1957 that Lloyd New wrote on Kiva Craft Center stationery as a response to some questions about the “Indian Problem.”

The second sub-series, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, contains 4 folders about Mr. New’s work from 1993-1998 on the Native American exhibition at the Scottsdale Center entitled “With Beauty All Around Me.”
