Scope and Contents
This folder contains: 1.) 4 envelopes with scribbles including a September 28 diary of grouse hunting. 2.) 4 handwritten pages dated October 3, 4, and 7, 1988 (when I started this novel called Democracy in Action, then retitled it The Voice of the Butterfly) describing Upper Ranchitos Road in Taos (which became Willow Road in the novel) and the Rio Grande river. (This folder and the following five folders can be cross-referenced with DEMOCRACY IN ACTION and THE VOICE OF THE BUTTERFLY MANUSCRIPTS in BOXES 58-70, and in the MARIAN WOOD CORRESPONDENCE in BOX 105, FOLDERS 39-40, and BOX 106, FOLDERS 5,6,7,8, and 9 [which has 8 of Marian's Butterfly rejection letters from 1990 to 2000]. Access Restrictions
The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
