 File — Box: 131, Folder: 51

Scope and Contents

This Red Mead Notebook contains: 1.) A few pages of notes for my novel, Great Feelings of Love. 2.) 1 page listing individuals and the newspapers that should get review copies of my 1987 novel, American Blood. 3.) A 4-page riff for my Hamilton class's 25th reunion that was published in our reunion yearbook, June 1987, and titled "An Exquisite Place to Start." 4.) 93 pages of brief humorous scenes to accompany photographs of my second wife, Juanita, in a photo/essay book called Joy Belongs to the Relentless. It was never published. Most of the riffs relate to our 1987 European trip. 5.) 13 pages of notes in the middle of the notebook from February 16-19, 1988(?) meetings with Philip and Mary Ann Hobel on the Pancho Villa script, "Born to Attack." (See BORN TO ATTACK SCRIPTS in BOXES 46 AND 47, and BORN TO ATTACK CORRESPONDENCE in BOX 108, FOLDER 3.) 6.) And 7 other pages of my notes on screenplay rewrites of "Born to Attack."
