Scope and Contents

Contents include: 1.) 64 pages of my notes on WARDAY script during my meetings with Costa-Gavras in Paris, September 6-14, 1984. (See WARDAY SCRIPTS in BOX 45, FOLDERS 1-11, and related WARDAY CORRESPONDENCE in BOX 107.) 2.) 15 pages of notes to Colorado Springs School arguing against the suspension of my son Luke for hijinks during a class trip to Mexico. 3.) 5 pages of notes for my novel American Blood (the short version published in 1987). 4.) 6 pages of notes for my book, On The Mesa (published in 1986). 5.) 7 pages of notes on Los Cordovas Community Meeting, March 24, 1985 (that became Chapter Nine in On The Mesa. 6.) 5 pages of notes on Carson Forest Plan meeting on March 28, 1985. 7.) 6 pages of lyrical notes describing the mesa for On The Mesa. Also related to an introduction I did for a book on Everett Reuss, "A Vagabond for Beauty." 8.) 13 pages of notes for 2 1985 letters to close friends. 9.) 3 final pages of notes for On The Mesa at back of the notebook.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
