Scope and Content Arden Tice's personal papers include correspondence and other materials pertaining to artists and writers of the Southwest, including Vivian Ayres, Robert Burlingame, Jerry and Sally Romotsky, Sandi Casillas, Judson Crews, Mildred Tolbert, Thurman Dillard, Wendell B. Anderson, and Dr. Wolfgang Cordon of Mexico. Tice's collection also includes family correspondence and other materials for her Hewitt ancestors in Oklahoma dating back to the 1880's. Scope and Content This small collection of 47 images are all contact prints, made using the high-quality platinotype (platinum) process, which results in very "expressive" images due to its long tonal range. These prints represent his simplest and most direct portrait photographs of Indians visiting Washington in full ceremonial costume, sometimes borrowed.

There also is material on folk dance of England. The collection includes background research files, Mr. Lyon's field notes and analysis from attendance at dances and ceremonies, published and unpublished writing, original drawings, audiovisual materials, maps and photographs.
