Oral History Interviews of the Architectural Heritage of New Mexico Oral History Project

Abstract The collection consists of oral history interviews with 12 New Mexico architects. The project was authored by Cecilia Portal in collaboration with the NM Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Albuquerque Chapter of AIA. Funding support was provided by the New Mexico Humanities Council.

Abstract This collection contains architectural construction documents and drawings beginning with the work of Gordon Ferguson, Engineer and Architect and ending with the recent work from SMPC Architects in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The collection has samples of major residential and commercial work created for Albuquerque and other New Mexico towns and cities. The scope of work shows the range of projects built as the firm grew over time to become the oldest architecture firm in the state of New Mexico.
