Scope and Contents

__This subseries contains documents on the planning, reporting and evaluation of the project, as well as individual sites information. It consists of correspondence, schedules, plans, reports, evaluation notes, field notes, geodimeter radial survey computations, site and ceramics data, lists, site descriptions, maps, drawings, and photos.

Biographical / Historical

__This subseries documents the initial gathering of detailed information on sites protected, preserved and interpreted by the NNCSPS staff, inclusive of John R. Stein, Manager; Taft Blackhorse, NN Archeologist; and Heidi Reed, NPS Archeologist and Liaision to the NNCPSP. The first project was named Phase I Sites Baseline Data Collection and was heavily geared toward geodimeter radial surveying of the sites and database development, although some field archeology also took place. H. Reed was responsible for data collection and mapping to build the GIS database. The sites were divided into three sections: San Juan Basin, Red Mesa Valley, and Puerco River Valley.
