History:

In November 1986, at the request of John Roney, BLM Albuquerque District archeologist and Peggy Gaudy, Farmington Resource Area archaeologist, Cecil Werito and Dabney Ford from the CCNHP stabilization program assessed the stabilization needs of Twin Angels Pueblo. Based on the scope of work provided by Werito and Ford, the BLM archeologists prepared the Interagency Agreement No. NM-910-IA-003. The pueblo is under the management of the BLM and is part of the Chaco Protection Site System as established by Public Law 96-550 enacted in 1980. In 1991, BLM and NPS entered into an Interagency Agreement to conduct necessary preservation of four pueblitos located within BLM Farmington District Office. In the succeeding years this agreement was expanded to include eight additional pueblitos in the same region. These structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the planning documents for these sites identify preservation treatment and maintenance as elements of their management. This report is limited to treatment documentation photos. All architectural and archeological documentation was complied as part of the Historic American Buildings Survey recordation completed prior to this preservation work.
