Charles R. Beeson papers

 Collection
Identifier: HHC 51
The collection consists of papers donated by Dr. Charles R. Beeson in 1997 which represent his main concerns and areas of interest while a physician in New Mexico. The reports, presentations, and conference materials represent his interest in and involvement with community-based medicine, cancer control, and Navajo medicine. The materials also include information on the New Mexico Health Care Corporation, Mastercare, an open panel prepaid health plan organized in the 1970s. The correspondence, letters written and received from 1974-1979, mostly with New Mexico's congressional delegation, covers many topics including the concerns of Dr. Beeson regarding the socialization of medicine and medical research and state tax legislation.
