The Albuquerque Legal Secretaries Association deposited their papers covering the period 1972-1982 in Special Collections with a plan to make future donations of accumulated papers every five years. The papers consist of minutes of Association meetings, committee reports, correspondence and fiscal records.

Institutional History

The Albuquerque Legal Secretaries Association (ALSA) was chartered in the Summer of 1972 and is affiliated with the National Association of Legal Secretaries and the New Mexico Association of Legal Secretaries. Membership is open to anyone working in a law office or an office directly engaged in work of a legal nature. The business year runs from May through April, when new officers are elected.

its members through educational activities such as workshops, classes given through UNM Continuing Education and speaker programs. The ALSA also serves a social function with programs such as "Bosses Night Out" and "ALSA Follies." Community service sponsored by the ALSA includes an annual Christmas party for underprivileged children. See more
