12 images total. Seven approximately 8” x 10” black and white photographs include: Diné sweatlodge, undated; Diné Yei Bi Chei ceremony outside a hogan, undated [Note: to respect issues of cultural sensitivity, the photo of the Yei Bi Chei ceremony is housed in an envelope within the folder; the photo depicts the social portion of the dance and does not depict the patient. Duplication of the photo is prohibited.]; trading post interior on pay day, 1940s; a group of Diné children running to receive candy at Canyon de Chelly, undated; Cozy McSparron and brother in law, Uncle Tub, undated; four identified children in front of a “playhouse” hogan, undated; unidentified individual walking along a wall of petroglyphs, undated. Five approximately 4” x 6” black and white images include: a postcard of the Catholic Mission Church at Chinle, Arizona, 1930s; the 1951-1952 class of children going to church; five Diné children with dolls, toys and puppy, undated; exterior photo of unidentified buildings and compound, undated; Zuni long-distance runner Melika and trainer, circa 1928.
