Scope and Contents

The material in this box describes the movement of sheep from points mostly in New Mexico to feeders (often in Colo., Wyo., or Nebr.) for feeding or to stockyards (usually Chicago) for market sale. Correspondence includes letters to G.,K. & Co. from its buying agents, from feeders, and livestock commission men at the stockyards; and from G.,K. & Co. to the A.T. & S.F. R.R. about the shipment of stock. Business papers include: Livestock Contracts, Lamb Feeding Contracts, Freight Bills (from railroads), Sales Invoices, Advices of Entry, Statements of Billing, Sales Statements and Credit Memorandums.
