Scope and Content

From the Collection: The Dekker Collection contains project files of work that was created between 1959-1970 by Arthur W. Dekker. The drawings consist of plans, sections, elevations and perspectives in ink and graphite of proposed and built structures in New Mexico.

The buildings represented in the collection range from private residences, restaurants and hotels located along East Central Avenue (Historic Route 66), office buildings and public works. Some significant projects in Albuquerque, N.M. include: Central Christian Church, Sundowner Motel (on Route 66), Fox Drive-In Theatre, Bell Trading Post Remodel (Route 66), Sandia National Labs (various buildings).

Most documents in the collection are in English, with a few notes and letters in Spanish
