Scope and Content

From the Collection: Rare folio published by Rydel Press, Santa Fe, 1995. This is copy V of five lettered copies, signed by photographer Craig Varjabedian. The text is autographed by the author, Michael Wallis, and the writers of the introduction and afterword, Felipe Ortega and Charles Carrillo.

The photographs depict 19th- and 20th-century Penitente moradas and crosses in New Mexico, photographed in different seasons and at different times of day. Locations of the moradas are not revealed.
