Scope and Content

From the Collection: A photographic study taken along Route 66 in New Mexico and Arizona. Artifacts of the tourist trade, including signs, shops, motion picture theaters, post offices, gas stations, and motels, are the focus of this collection. There are photographs of Old Town Plaza in Albuquerque and of Laguna Pueblo, as well as artistic landscapes, skyscapes, and views of the road. Other locations in New Mexico include the Continental Divide, Cuervo, Gallup, Glenrio, Newkirk, Rio Puerco, Santa Rosa, Tucumcari, Central Avenue (Albuquerque). Other locations include Lupton, Arizona and trading posts in Arizona and New Mexico. Exhibition-quality mounted and matted prints.
