Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection consists of oral history video interviews that shed light on the history of Nob Hill. Old timers, residents, business owners, architects and planners, and others affiliated with the community were interviewed. Most interview files include the raw interview and interview highlights. Prominent interviewees include Jean and Mark Bernstein, founders of Flying Star Restaurant and Satellite Coffee; Ed Boles, former Historic Preservation Officer for the City of Albuquerque; former City Councilor, Rey Garduno and his wife, Ilsa Stromberg Garduno; and partners of Stevens, Mallory, Pearl, and Campbell (SMPC) Architectural firm.

Short films document early days, mid-century, renaissance, 21st century and people of Nob Hill. A longer film, “Nob Hill is 100" is also part of the collection.
