Scope and Contents

This manuscript, PART TWO of number 31 above, is very clean. Contains pages 179-437 of the book. Few corrections. It's content? Pop and Monique in Berkeley, their early marriage adventures in 1939, my birth in July 1940, arrival of Nito, Monique's mysterious illness July of 1941, Dad quits school to work, arrival of Mamita and Ninon fleeing Hitler (and Franco in Spain), our move to New York after Pearl Harbor, then move to Miami Beach where Monique died on Aug. 4, 1942. Then Dad's fight with Mamita over custody of me, and my father leaves Miami. 258 pages.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
