GOODBYE, MONIQUE (31), June 5, 2014

 File — Box: 188, Folder: 12

Scope and Contents

This manuscript is pretty clean, some edits and hand-written additions. PART ONE labelled pages 1-178. There are 70 chapters. Again, Monique childhood, her visits to America 1931-1933, excerpts from her diaries of those years, 2 in French, 2 in English, her American adventures. And Pop's childhood, Loomis letters, career as field zoologist in Florida, Nevada, England, and Alaska for the American Museum in NY. Includes David and Monique's courtship, marriage, and their 1939 arrival in Berkeley, California. I kept struggling with the same material, trying to find a way to write it. What material to include or exclude. Find a tone for the writing. So much crazy repetition. 178 pages.
