This is PART 2 of the above draft of the book, and includes chapters 76-143. Pages 257-501. On my computr it's Jmonique.14. CLEAN DRAFT. Follows Dad and Monique in Berkeley from March 1, 1940, through my July birth, Dad quits school to get a job, Monique's little brother Nito arrives, Monique's mysterious illness, arrival in Berkeley as refugees from Hitler of Mamita and Ninon, Pearl Harbor, our trip east to NY for Dad's new job with Pan American, then to Miami Beach where Monique dies on August 4, 1942, and Dad departs Miami in late November 1942. 244 pages.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
