SEPTEMBER 15-27, 1990

 File — Box: 136, Folder: 40

Scope and Contents

In this folder are 51 mostly typed pages (pp 17-19 are handwritten) which are a continuation of the September journal just above. True pagination at top center of page. Journal recounts some grouse hunting, a few dove-hunting trips on the Colorado border, and fishing the Rio Grande. Occasional pages display bird feathers, leaves, grasses taped onto them. Some afternoons I visited my elderly friend, Andrés Martínez. And hiked with my New York buddy, Bill Rusin. This folder also includes a powerful article against hunting from Esquire, "The Killing Game," by Joy Williams, published in October 1990 issue; and several poems, by Mary Oliver and Adam Zagajenski, sent to me by a friend that September.
