Scope and Contents

This is a Xerox of my original typed 24-page Wizard of Loneliness film journal during my visit to the movie set in Bristol, Vermont from December 1-8, 1987. (Original journal is in BOX 41, FOLDER 1 of my SCREENPLAYS INVENTORY, along with SLIDES and PRINTS taken during the filming in Bristol.) This folder also includes Xeroxes of two drafts of my article "Snow Job" about the Wizard filming, published in Film Comment, October 1988. One 12-page draft with many corrections; one clean 11-page draft. Included too is Xerox of a 2-page letter to Jeff Lipsky at Skouras Pictures thanking him for inviting my wife and I to the Vermont set. And a 4-page letter to Peter Biskind at Premiere Magazine sending him prints and slides I took of the filming in Vermont.

Access Restrictions

The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
