GRETSCH GUITAR, 1959

 File — Box: 135, Folder: 13

Scope and Contents

The summer of 1959 I was a lifeguard at the Avon (CT) Country Club and lived with my Hamilton College buddy Bill Willis's family in West Hartford, CT. I spent some of my earnings (about $350) on a lime-green, hollow body, f-hole, Gretsch electric guitar. I sold it when broke a few years later. Played music a lot with fellow Hamilton TDX pledge, Johnny Sullivan. This folder has a Gretsch Catalogue, copyright 1955, from Melody Music Co in Hartford, Connecticut, but I do not see my exact lime-green guitar pictured therein.
