LOU PALMER, January 2002

 File — Box: 131, Folder: 20

Scope and Contents

Lou Palmer was my stepmother Esther Gleason "Brownie" Nichols' second husband. By late 2001 Lou was dying. He went into a Denver hospice. This folder has: 1.) My scribbled envelope notes (5 envelopes!) with suggestions to Brownie about handling Lou's death. 2.) My 4-page typed letter with those suggestions. 3.) 3 pages (one envelope) of my scribbled notes on dealing with Brownie's recent car accident. 4.) A yellow Post-It dated January 29, 2002 recording Brownie's complaint that Lou isn't dying, he's getting better, and Lou's children aren't any help. (The upshot? Lou declined to expire in Denver; he got better; Brownie refused to take him back home; and Lou went to live with a daughter in Florida where he later died.) (Pages in this file are numbered 1-14 at bottom of page.) (See related material in my JOURNAL/DIARY FILES in the BLUE MEAD NOTEBOOK, 2001-TWO.)
