MIKE KIMMEL, September 25, 1997

 File — Box: 131, Folder: 12

Scope and Contents

My best friend for over three decades, Mike died in N.Y. on September 22, 1997. We hiked, hunted, and fished almost yearly in Taos. I wrote about Mike in The Last Beautiful Days of Autumn. My eulogy for him was published by UNM Press in Dancing on the Stones. It's called "Earl the Pearl Meets Rikki-tikki-tavi." In this folder you'll find: 1.) 3 pages of handwritten notes for the eulogy. 2.) 16-page handwritten version of the eulogy I gave at Mike's N.Y. memorial on September 25, 1997. 3.) 3 different typed versions of the eulogy, one with hand corrections. (Pages in this file are numbered 1-55 at bottom of page.)
