ISABEL VIGIL, April 10, 1996

 File — Box: 131, Folder: 10

Scope and Contents

Isabel, and her daughter, Evelyn Mares Valerio, were dear friends of mine. I wrote about them in The Last Beautiful Days of Autumn. Isabel's Upper Ranchitos farm had dogs, cats, horses, a burro, cows, peacocks, quail, pheasants, chickens, with pens everywhere, apple trees, bee hives. Despite many family tragedies, Isabel and Evelyn retained remarkable high spirits. This folder contains two 4-page typed drafts (one slightly abridged) of my eulogy for Isabel given at the St. Francis Church in Ranchos. (Pages in this file are numbered 1-8 at bottom of page.)
