Scope and Contents

  1. Horsemen of the West, color reproductions of Joe Mora watercolors, from the original plates, dating to the early 1900s, owned by the Valley Bank, published in Arizona Highways. Package compliments of Carl. A. Bimson, bank president. Images of Padre Eusebio Kino; Spanish Conquistador on horseback; Mountain Man fur trapper, scout, Rocky Mountain trader; Navajo rider; the Pony Express rider; Old Time Sioux warrior on war horse, Native American Indian rider of the 1800s; two Anglo American cowboys bronco busters, busting a colt; and a modern Anglo American horse breaker simply entitled Buster.
  2. The Charge, skirmish between United States cavalry and Native American Indians, 1906, by Frederick Remington.
  3. Downing the High Leader, Native American Indians attacking a stagecoach, 1907, by Frederick Remington.
  4. Rodeo, color reprint of painting by Peter Hurd, from Home and Highway, publication of Allstate Insurance Company, New Mexico scene, with cowboy, steer, rodeo grounds, fans in the rodeo stands, nob hill behind them.
  5. Western Rangeland, black and white sketch, by Lloyd L. Goff, 1944, windmills and water tank, no cattle showing, mountains and hills in background. Goff was from Texas and taught at the University of New Mexico in the 1940s.
  6. Alpine Glory, color print, from painting by O. Conrad Schwiering, Rocky Mountains.
  7. Teton Blues, color print, from painting by O. Conrad Schwiering, Rocky Mountains.
