H M. Brown Account Book, (Restricted), 1926-1934

Scope and Contents

At the beginning of the book is an alphabetical list of patients and corresponding page number for their financial payment records. Gives the name of the person responsible for the account, the month, date and year, amount charged and amount paid, who was treated, example: wife, boy, baby, father, evening or morning visit and if medicine was administrated. Sometimes lists what was treated: earache, warts, or what part of the body treated: head, eye or what disease: measles, scarlet fever. Sometimes gives occupations of patients, soldier, grocer man, mill worker, and what town they are from. Also contains some drawings with comments on medical condition of the patient. Company accounts are included, such as Boardman Construction Company and Hagerman Gin Company. Some patients have health insurance and their accounts are under the insurance company name.

The Henry M. Brown account book is restricted until 2034. Researchers engaged in publishable research are required to get permission from the CSWR Director before use.
