 File — Box: 4, Folder: 12

Scope and Content

From the Collection: Nina Galen's Papers relate to her literary career. The initial collection is arranged in two series. Series l consists of her published works: five novels published between l967 and l982, the related manuscript materials, correspondence and book reviews; and magazine articles. Series 2 is comprised of unpublished materials and includes childhood prose and poetry, poetry written while Ms. Galen lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, an unpublished novel, and manuscript materials and correspondence related to four musical comedies.

Several additions to the collection have been processed. The October 1997 addition includes correspondence with publishers, and miscellaneous personal correspondence, as well as drafts of various unpublished works including short stories, one and two act plays, children's stories, and a collection of Ms. Galen's college papers.

A November 2002 addition includes newspaper columns, productions for radio broadcast, poems, plays, and prose in holographic and typescript formats. Works include "True Adventures of Plaster Cats," "Gripes of Wraith," "Meltdown of Lidia Morning Dew," "Two Years Later," "Croc," "Kroh," and "Secret of the Rainforest," among others.

Another addition to the collection was processed in April 2008. This primarily includes photographs, manuscripts, audio (CD) files, daily planners, and assorted miscellany. The majority of the additional materials are housed in box 5, however, some have been integrated into related existing folders (and so noted in the contents list).
