Scope and Content

The Jenkinson papers consist of materials related to the writing and publishing of Wild Rivers of North America (1973). There is correspondence between Jenkinson and his publisher at E.P. Dutton concerning editorial changes to the original manuscript. Central to the collection are the galley and page proofs of the book. These pages are type-written and are full of hand-written annotations and editorial comments. There is also a folder of hand-drawn maps used to illustrate the book and one version of the manuscript includes original glossy photographs of the rivers described in the book.
