This diary opens with an index written by the author. The index includes: Social Science, Language, Spelling, Literary Hour, Reading, Playground, Citizenship, Arithmetic, Word List, Results of Tests, Suggestions for Grouping Seventh Grade, and Conclusions. Each section has good accounts of related material such as assignments, grades, homework, copies of papers, reading lists, fill-in-the-blank exams, maps and geography lessons, and records of festivals and "field day" -- a day spent competing at track and field events.
