Scope and Contents

First couple minutes of this tape is Stokley Ligon. Then Felix talks about Ligon working at the Bar Cross; born Apr. 26, 1862 in Stephens Co., Texas; Indian encounters - women were housed in picket houses in fort; trip to N.M. in wagon pulled by steers - sold the cattle to Lucien Maxwell at Fort Sumner; his father bought some Maxwell Land Grant land but lost it to the Stocktons; moved from the Sugarite (Raton) to Conejos Co., Colo; went back to Texas and then to N.M. again; range conditions. Schoolmate Lottie Clifton stolen by Indians.
