Side 1: Mr. Holson was born March 27, 1872 in Central City, Colo. He reminisces about his early life in Silver City mentioning his grade school days there, Indian troubles, Billy the Kid, the Chinese, freighting. June 7, 1957.Side 2: Mr. Holson describes Silver City in the 1880’s including: whore houses (Big Kate Stewart. French Nettie, Merle Belmont, Marjorie Campbell, Edna Duray, Bess Harper); the start of the Big Ditch and the floods; ox teams bringing wood and supplies from Mexico; mining (Georgetown, Pinos Altos, Santa Rita, the Ivanhow); Harvey Whitehill embezzling; running a feed store.
