Scope and Contents

Records in this group consist of oaths of commissioned officers and related correspondence, some original certificates of appointment, mostly received through private donations, and a few resignations. They are arranged in alphabetical order. Commissions also appear in the Governors Executive Record under date of appointment. (See Rolls 21-24 of this edition). If Officers Registers were maintained by the Adjutant General prior to 1909, they are not extant. Because of their bulk, enlistments and discharges have not been microfilmed.
